Hello friends!

I'm the wedding photographer for the adventurous couple that wishes to exchange their vows in the most sacred of settings. The great outdoors!

I also created an e-book for fellow photographers who are interested in learning how to shoot in manual-mode! Check it out below. :) It's free!

6 Reasons Why Your Engagement Session is Important

6 REASONS TO HAVE AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION BEFORE YOUR WEDDING

1 | The relationship

Establishing a strong relationship between us long before you tie the knot is first and foremost one of the most important point. This relationship will have a big impact on the outcome of your wedding day photographs. As we trundle along the session, I will be constantly taking note of how you two interact as a couple. I will take note of your quirks, your individual personalities and your personality as a couple. We will laugh, talk and I will listen. These mental notes will help me capture special moments on your wedding day that we might have otherwise missed.

2 | Being Photographed

For most of you, this photoshoot will be your very first professional photoshoot. I understand how that can be slightly nerve racking! I too, still get a little anxious when I have to step out from behind the camera. But trust me, it’s normal! The engagement session will help calm those thoughts and make you realize that really, all we are doing is having a good time, all while getting photographed.

3 | Casual Photos

This session is also a great opportunity to get a few great photographs of you and your soon-to-be spouse in a more casual setting than your wedding! The shoot could be set anywhere — from your favourite book shop to your barn with horses, chickens and llamas! Even though your wedding gown must be absolutely stunning, you will appreciate having professional, but informal photos of yourselves later on.

4 | Building confidence

Once you see your engagement photos, I can guaranty that you’ll be thrilled about how great you look! This will build your confidence, build the confidence you have in me and get you feeling ecstatic about your wedding day photography, instead of dreading the fact of having the paparazzi following you all day. ;)

Tip: Most hair and makeup stylists will offer you a free test of your chosen wedding styles. Why not have this done on the day of your engagement session? This way, you get to see how it photographs and you can later let your stylists know if there’s anything you’d like to change for the big day! Also, having your hair and make-up done professionally will boost your confidence for the shoot!

5 | Time to Reconnect

This session is also a great excuse to reconnect with your lover. Between work, families and wedding planning this can unfortunately be a stressful time for the two of you. During this one hour long session, I suggest you put all those woes away and only think about how much you love each other! This will not only make for great intimate and meaningful photographs, but you will also feel refreshed and ready to tackle on the world again.

6 | So Many Opportunities

Once you do receive all your photographs from me, the options are now endless! You can share them on social media to get your guests exited about your day or you could send surprise Thank You prints to your parents for helping out with the planning. You could also use these for your invitations, your wedding programme or your even your save-the-date cards.

All in all, my only goal is for the three of us to go out and have some fun! If we do that, no matter the weather, your outfit or the location, the photos will turn out beautiful!
