ADVENTUROUS PYRAMID ISLAND & OLD FORT POINT WEDDING PORTRAITS // JASPER NATIONAL PARK

Kristen and Haylen reached out to me in September last year and we started talking about planning some winter wonderland portraits in Jasper! We all love winter and snow so planning the adventure session for early February in Jasper National Park was the perfect plan. I already knew Kristen and Haylen from doing their engagement session back in early 2019 (you can see that here!). Later that year, they eloped in Disney World (Land?! oh gosh I can’t remember lol) and it sounded amazing! However, being true Albertans and lovers of snow, they wanted to get dressed up again in their formal wedding attire for some portraits… and that’s exactly what we did!

We started off in their cute hotel room at the Pyramid Lake lodge for some detail and getting ready photos. There’s something special about getting ready photos where the bride and groom are together… I just love it! Then, we headed out to Pyramid Island for our first stop of the day. And let me tell you – it. was. windy. Kristen and Haylen were such troopers in the cold and Kristen even followed along with my crazy plan to remove her fuzzy shawl just for one photo. It was worth it I think! :D After some time there, we headed out to Old Fort Point.

I love this area because of its options for photos. Just in one small area, we were able to capture some cool bridge shots, riverside photos, and some epic mountain views! We walked up the stairs a bit for a view – it was very icy at the top so our options were limited, but with me hanging off the stairs handrail, we were able to capture a cool photo! Then, on our way down the steps, we stopped on the cool wooden landing for a few last portraits.

Kristen and Haylen, it was so much fun wanding the park with me and trusting my crazy ideas!! 💕
