These days, we all walk around with high-resolution cameras in our pockets 90% of day. But when it comes to publishing a blog post or creating a graphic, we often find ourselves at loss for photos! Crazy, don’t you think? Well, maybe not considering that most of those photos are either of my cats or of what I ate that day (#sorrynotsorry). So if you’re like me, where do you look when you need to find a great high quality photograph for your next blog post, but don’t have time or the resources to shoot it? Free stock photos websites! *insert happy cheers*
I will admit, if you’re looking to brand your entire website or new business, you’re probably better off to hire or buy unique stock photos. That being said, if you’re just looking for a photo to use on a pin or for a quick graphic, free stock photos really come in handy here.
In this post, I list my top 7 favourite free high-resolution stock photo websites. So let’s jump right in!
PIN THIS SO YOU ALWAYS HAVE THESE ON HAND!
Pexels
Pexels is always the first place I look if I’m needing a stock photo. They have a huge library, the photos are always super high quality, are taken by photographers and you can easily search for exactly what you want.
Unsplash
Unsplash is very similar to Pexels. Always has a great high quality selection of photos and they also have a search function. Like Pexels, you can also create an account and save your favourites to folders to come back to them later.
FancyCrave
If you’re looking for some fun inspiration, this is where to start! The photos are beautiful and again, high quality. They don’t however, have a search function, but all the photos are packaged in bundles relating to one subject. My favourite pack so far: Cactus Frenzy.
Burst
Burst is just another wonderful catalog full of high quality, well photographed images with a search feature to make your life easier.
Gratisography
Gratisography isn’t your typical stock photo resource! It’s filled with weird and funky photographs, sure to make you laugh! If this kind of style matches your brand aesthetic, you’ve hit the jackpot!
Life of Pix
If you’re looking for beautiful, impressive scenic photos, Life of Pix is a great resource! They also have all kinds of other styles of photos too, along with a search bar.
Pixababy
This is your resource for your “typical” stock photography. You’ll find many styled photos here with everyday items on uniform backgrounds. Pixababy also has a great library of vector graphics and illustrations.
Did I forget to list your favourite free stock photo website?
I’d love to discover it! Let me know in the comments bellow.
Nice coverage of the community at large! Have you heard of Rawpixel? If you haven’t, head to rawpixel.com and let us know what you think. We would LOVE for what we do best to feature more in your content. Especially as I noted our image is your header image, great choice ;) Thanks in advance
Hi Gemma! Thank you for sharing – I’ve never heard of Rawpixel, but I’Ll check it out. :) I downloaded that header image from Pexels. But I’ve seen some stocks shared over different websites in the past.
